The CUA Vis Team returns for its ninth year at Catholic University to compete in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. The Vis Moot is a prestigious international law competition focused on a complex commercial dispute. Each year, hundreds of law schools participate by submitting memoranda and arguing in the oral rounds in Vienna and Hong Kong.  In 2013, CUA placed first in the general rounds in the Shanghai pre-moot; a CUA team member was named the best oralist; and three other team members placed third, seventh and tied for eighth.  CUA’s Respondent’s Brief was also awarded an honorable mention at Vis East 2013.

This year’s team is led by Christina Battaglia (Captain) and Josephine Vowels (Co-Captain), under the guidance of Professor Harris Weinstein and alumni team-members Renée-Lauren Ellis, Raeka Safai and Kirsten Bender. We are busy researching and writing and look forward to the next few months!
